Remote production tests in live football games

Supponor has performed numerous successful remote production tests during 2016-2017 in live football games at Watford stadium.

The Watford stadium football pitch is surrounded with LED billboards, which are used to show animated LED signage to the audience and TV viewers.

In the remote production tests, Supponor’s digital advertising replacement technology is used to replace the animated LED signage on billboards with a combination of virtual artworks during the live football game.

During the tests, only the augmented camera setup is located at the venue, while all the signal processing and computation needed for the digital advertising replacement happens solely in the Master Control Room located at Preston, UK.

All the required signals, including the TV camera signals and auxiliary signals from the augmented camera, are sent from the venue to the remote location over fiber optic IP network.
